What does the Council do?

Killinghall Parish Council represents the community in matters affecting the parish, and maintains and improves parish-owned property.

Representing the community

This includes:

  • Liaising with North Yorkshire Council on various matters, for example:
    • highways
    • footpaths
    • transport
  • Commenting on planning applications
  • Responding to consultations

The Council also supports local community groups and events.

Parish-owned property

The Council maintains and improves parish-owned property. There are more of these assets than you might have imagined. Follow this link to download the Asset Register (a PDF file is downloaded). They include items such as:

  • Parish noticeboards
  • historic plaques
  • public benches
  • defibrillator
  • signs

There are two significant parish-owned properties, The Glebe and the recently acquired Killinghall Moor Allotments.

The Glebe

The Glebe is a recreational space in the heart of Killinghall.

The allotments are situated in the southern end of the Parish.
